The current era is characterized by tremendous scientific development and accelerated technological progress in various aspects of life, and in this frame , Â the administration of the Medical Research Institute tended to contribute in upgrading the scientific and educational levels in Egypt by developing its program for postgraduate studies, to keep pace with this development and to improve the scientific and clinical expertise for Egyptian and Arab university graduates, in order to meet the actual needs of the labour market of high level specialists.
The bylaws of the Institute had focused on the following:
- Developing the scientific curriculum and expanding the use of modern technology in the transfer of information and methods of teaching and research in the fields of medical sciences.
- Increasing the number of degrees granted by the Institute according to the demands of labour market.
Objectives of the Institute
- Coordinating scientific research of the various branches of medicine between the academic and clinical departments at the Institute and various faculties of the Egyptian, Arab and foreign universities.
- Increasing the capabilities of students and developing their mental and scientific skills.
- Improving the skills of analysis and criticism and innovative capabilities, identifying and solving problems, having positive trends regarding educational and environmental issues and respecting the medical ethics and laws so as to prepare graduates with an integrated personality and high scientific level able to compete in the labour market and carry out an effective leadership role in healthcare and solving health problems in the governorate of Alexandria and suburbs.
The Institute carries out the following activities
- Conducting scientific and clinical research and awarding scientific degrees in the various branches of medicine.
- Diagnosing and treating various diseases with the latest treatment strategies and performing difficult and rare surgeries.
- Training doctors to keep up with the new updates and seek means of diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
- Encouraging and training specialists in other hospitals to follow these means.
